What is dabbat al-ard?

Dabbat al-ard is an Arabic term that refers to a creature or a beast mentioned in Islamic eschatology. It is often translated as "beast of the earth" or "earthly animal." According to Islamic tradition, it is a creature that will appear during the end times and play a significant role in the events leading up to the Day of Judgment.

The Quran mentions the dabbat al-ard in Surah Al-Naml, verse 82: "And when the word is fulfilled concerning them, We shall bring forth a beast of the earth to speak unto them because mankind had not believed with assurance in Our revelations."

Islamic scholars have interpreted the appearance of the dabbat al-ard in different ways. Some believe it will be a literal creature, while others see it as a metaphorical symbol of the chaos and confusion that will accompany the end times. Some traditions identify it as the Antichrist or the False Prophet, while others see it as a separate entity.

Regardless of its interpretation, the appearance of the dabbat al-ard is seen as a sign of the approaching end of the world and a call to believers to prepare for the Day of Judgment.
